Chiu won a B.A. degree in Theatre Arts from Chinese Culture University, Taipei, Taiwan. He used to study at the Master Program in History and Criticism in Theatre Department at State University of New York, Brooklyn. He won a MFA degree in Acting from Actors Studio, Drama School at The New School University. He is currently a lecturer in Department of Theatre Arts at Chinese Culture University, Continue Education Extension at Taipei Municipal University of Education, and the Department of Architecture at Huafan University. He is also the artistic director of The Party Theatre Group.
